Digital Marketing Visibility Index
DMVI is a weighted index of observable digital visibility within a defined geography and measurement period. It does not measure revenue, profitability, advertising return on investment or total market share.
| Category | Weight | Evidence and scoring basis |
|---|---|---|
| Google Organic Search Visibility | 35% | A comparable sample of relevant commercial search terms, with licensed rank observations and an explicitly documented visibility curve. |
| Public Paid Advertising Presence | 25% | Verified public ad observations only. Ad presence describes observable activity, not spend, profitability or campaign effectiveness. |
| Social Content Visibility | 20% | Public or authorized post-level activity, compared over the same observation window and normalized within each platform. |
| Branded Search Interest | 10% | Normalized branded search-interest observations; relative interest is not absolute search volume. |
| Online Media Presence | 10% | Deduplicated, dated media observations categorized as independent editorial, sponsored, syndicated or company-controlled. |
Current configuration · Initial DMVI weights: organic 35, paid advertising 25, social content 20, branded search 10, online media 10.. Effective 2026-10-10 22:44:57.
How scores are reported
Each channel must have source-backed observations, a source identifier, geography and date range. A model does not assign DMVI scores. If one or more categories are unavailable, Flashbook displays the observed categories and coverage but withholds the composite score; missing data is not treated as zero and the remaining weights are not redistributed.
Category scores are only comparable when source methodology, market and observation window are comparable. An ad-library search that returns no records is not proof that a company ran no ads. Google Trends values are normalized interest, not absolute search volume. Public posts do not reveal private reach or impressions.
Current source status
Organic rank tracking, public-ad research feeds, social metrics, branded search-interest feeds and deduplicated media monitoring are not connected in this release. Website HTML and PageSpeed measurements remain separate technical signals and do not count toward DMVI.
